About this experience

A trial lesson can make an incredible and exciting gift for loved ones and friends or just to treat yourself! The Discovery Lesson is a hands on flying experience with 1 to 1 instruction at Redhill Aerodrome. Your lesson starts in the classroom where one of our Instructors will take you through the basics of flying a helicopter before taking you for your hands on lesson. Flight time is approximately 25 minutes in the local area where we aim to get the student on all of the controls.

Flight time: 20-25 minutes.

Total experience time: 45-60 min.

The Robinson R22 is a two-seat (maximum seat weight of 17st (108kg)), two-bladed, single-engine, light utility helicopter manufactured by Robinson Helicopter Company. It was designed in 1973 and has been in production since 1979. We operate the latest Robinson R22 model the R22 Beta II.

The Guimbal Cabri G2 is a two-seat light helicopter manufactured by Hélicoptères Guimbal, and powered by a reciprocating engine. The first demonstrator flew in 1992 and the Cabri G2 entered commercial service in 2008. This modern helicopter has no maximum seat weight limitation.

The Robinson R44 is a four-seat (maximum passenger weight 21st), light helicopter also produced by Robinson Helicopter Company (and had been in production since 1992). With one of our R44 trial lessons you can take up to two friends with you Free of Charge (weight permitting).

Please note

R22 – Maximum weight 17St (108Kg), please advise us if over 14St (90Kg).
R44 – If you choose one of our R44 trial lessons you can take up to two friends with you Free of Charge (weight permitting). R44 Maximum passenger weight 21St, please advise us if over 14St (90Kg).
G2 – There is no maximum seat weight for this helicopter as long as both you and the instructor fit comfortably in the cabin and are within the total weight and balance limitations.
This flight is sold on a voucher basis:Vouchers are non-refundable but are transferable Vouchers are valid for 9 months from date of purchase
There is no minimum age for a helicopter lesson, however the student will need to physically be able to reach and operate all of the controls safely.
Flights are subject to suitable weather conditions. In the event of unsuitable weather, you will be offered an alternative date.
If you do not speak English fluently we may not be able to instruct you effectively, in which case you may not be allowed on the controls.
Due to the nature of this tour and the safety of all guests, the tour operator reserves the right to refuse service to passengers who are intoxicated or show signs of intoxication. If, as a result, your tour is canceled, you will not be entitled to a refund.
